2012 Christmas party

A great big thank you goes out to all of the parents, students and friends of Mamba Martial Arts who attended our first Christmas party at The Mermaid, Ipswich and made it a special occasion. It was a great turn out, in fact according to the staff there, the biggest party they have had booked in. It goes to show how well everyone at Mamba gets on and what a the true meaning of family friendly is as far as our academy goes.

We are so proud of you all for dressing to impress and for the way everyone conducted themselves especially the younger ones who were no trouble at all. We hope this is just the first of many Christmas’s we will share toghether and each time we will need even bigger venue’s as we grow. We have put some pictures on the gallery but if any of you have any more you want on there just let us know.

We would also like to thank The Mermaid and all their staff for looking after us so well all night.

Have a great Christmas everyone.

British Champ for Mamba

Just two months after his younger brother Tommy won the I.C.O Ringmasters under 35kg boys championship, Jack Purdy (13) stepped into the ring to fight for the I.K.F British Junior lightweight title representing Mamba Martial Arts Ipswich. Jack was to fight a very good opponent from wales who already held three titles himself (Welsh,Celtic & British).
The contest was promoted by Colin Payne from TKO kickboxing and was held at the Casino rooms in Rochester, Kent. It was a great fight from start to finish, as expected with so much on the line”. Five rounds of 1 1/2 minutes which Jack was more than prepared for. From the first bell Jack was the one going forward and pushing the pace, this was not to say his opponent didn’t come to fight as he had some good sidekicks but these did not faze Jack who stuck to his guns  and pushed the pace.
This was a bout with some great kickboxing and Jack put together some really good combinations, showing why he deserved this title shot and in the end being triumphant.
Well done Jack.
