Who we are?
We are Mamba Martial Arts. We supply martial arts tuition in Karate, Kickboxing, Boxing and Ju -Jitsu. We are based at 12 Wharfedale Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 4JP.
Your Personal Information Rights & how to exercise them
Personal Information is just that – it’s personal. And it’s yours, not ours – we know that. So we at Mamba Martial Arts want to make sure that it’s easy for you to take control of it.
These are your rights – legal rights that the Information Commissioner will help you to enforce if we slip up.
We’ll confirm that we have received your request and let you know if we need anything else from you, then we will provide you with copies within a month.
What information we collect about you
We collect name and contact details (such as email, address and telephone number) when you submit an on-line form, when requesting information about our services either in person or over the phone or when you join Mamba Martial Arts.
Why we collect information about you?
To keep you informed with events and matters concerning Mamba Martial Arts (competitions, fetes, gradings, etc.)
In cases of emergency.
Promotions and advertising relevant to your being a member of Mamba Martial Arts.
Who we share your details with?
We will keep all your details private from other parties. The only exception would be: Regulatory bodies, courts and law enforcement agencies upon request or by your own permission.
Still images and video
We do on occasions take pictures and videos during classes that could be displayed on our website, some advertising or on social media. Anyone not wanting to be shown in any of these ways just need to make us aware beforehand. If after the fact you find a picture or video you wish removed please still let us know. We also have CCTV cameras in place around the building at Mamba Martial Arts and signs indicating this. These cameras are a necessity for all security purposes and the safety of our members. The CCTV cameras are only placed in appropriate positions and are clearly visible.
How long do we keep your information?
We will only keep your personal information for as long as is necessary and no longer. Once we no longer need or require the information it will be deleted or destroyed as applicable.
Right of access to your Information
You can ask us for a copy of all your Personal Information or for some particular information such as CCTV footage of an accident you were involved in.
Right to have inaccurate or out of date Information corrected
If we’ve made a mistake and got some of your Information wrong, or if something has changed, like moving to a new house or change of email then just let us know and we’ll fix or update it.
Right to stop receiving marketing emails, texts and notifications
You can ask us to stop sending you emails, texts, notifications or post at any time, simply by emailing us, texting “STOP” or writing to us.
Right to prevent processing of your Information
You can ask us to stop using your Personal Information but to keep it if you need it for some reason, for example if you are making a claim.
Right to have your Personal Information deleted (“Right to be Forgotten”)
You can ask us to erase or delete your Personal Information. We will either delete or anonymise your Information except for Information that we need to keep for legal reasons.
Right to complain
In the first instance we would ask that you come to us directly if you do have any concerns or complaints. We will always do our utmost to come to a satisfactory conclusion.
Right to make a complaint to the regulator – the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
If you have a concern or complaint about the way we are handling your Personal Information, the Information Commissioner’s Office is there to help you. They may ask you to give us an opportunity to put things right first, and we would certainly like you to give us the chance.
